Introducing Fan Page Fail #9: Walk Of Shame

email

You’ve seen it before: “everything must go”, “liquidation sale”, “all items 50% off”. Ultimately though, businesses that undermine their own revenue goals typically won’t stay in business long. Likewise, brands reeking of desperation when it comes to building their social media street cred look just as shabby.

In Fan Page Fail #9, Jonny’s desperation quickly turns Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame into the Walk of Shame when he offers up his canine pal Freddie for a mere Facebook like. Excessive? Sure – but we’ve all witnessed even the most blue-chip brands act out of similar pathetic urgency.

Remember, stay true to your company values. Don’t degrade your brand’s social stock with an offering you’ll regret or your budget can’t support. There are plenty of ways to offer relevant value and keep your dignity (and your dog).

The team had a blast hanging with Freddie and shooting this spot. For those of you who have visited the Walk of Fame, then you know the motley cast of characters that walk up and down those sidewalks. We were happy to have Jonny Like blend in with the memorable scenery for the afternoon.

The lucky recipient of the lap dog in this spot deserves a proper introduction. A special shout out to the campaign’s Associate Producer Jonny Look, who was actually the original inspiration (and head stylist) for our “Jonny Like” character.

How much further will Jonny take his campaign? You’ll have to click over  to www.fanpagefail.com and our Facebook page where you’ll discover even more socially-reckless Fan Page Fail videos, valuable insights, and a few uncomfortable laughs.
