You would have thought that Jonny learned his “location matters” lesson after his awkward and creepy fan-recruiting exchange in Fan Page Fail #3: Dirty Urinal.
But no…
In Fan Page Fail #8, Jonny reminds us yet again that when trying to motivate new fans on Facebook, pay just as much attention to WHEN AND WHERE you’re going to message as you do to WHAT you’re actually going to say. (If you care to read more about on this subject, we just wrote about it in the last installment of our blog mini-series Without A Strong Brand, You Ain’t Got Jack So…cial! A Dozen Rules For Attracting & Keeping Your Social Consumer.).
Perhaps Jonny was leaning a little too hard into the stall wall as well as the available data. According to a study by AIS media, one out of every three Americans check out Facebook while on the toilet (seems to be a bit low…). In fact, if you’re reading this post while “taking a break”, please let us know so we can adjust the stats. On second thought, keep it to yourself. We’re good.
While we very easily could have named this spot Looking For Likes In All The Wrong Places to pay homage to another Jonny, country crooner Johnny Lee, we instead titled it after the toe-tappin’ ex-Idaho senator who provided us with the comedic inspiration.
How much more rejection can poor Jonny take? You’ll have to click over to www.fanpagefail.com and our Facebook page where you’ll discover even more socially-reckless Fan Page Fail videos, valuable insights, and a few uncomfortable laughs.
