
What does your company do and what is your role there…besides running the Facebook page of course?
Free & Easy Traveler runs 10 – 105 day backpacking trips to SE Asia, Nicaragua, Greece & Turkey. We understand that the people joining us on our adventures are all individuals so structuring their entire day doesn’t make sense! That’s why you travel with the structure of knowing where you’ll be each day…but how you spend your time is up to you. It’s your trip!! Plus, you get to travel with 15 – 20 other cool people looking to experience something new…ensuring that you will have the best trip possible!
My role in Free & Easy Traveler is the North American Operations Manager. Along with a team of awesome individuals…we are looking to expose as many people as possible to our company, trips, and laid-back culture so more and more people jump on a plane and get busy livin’ on one of our adventures!
Why does your company have a Facebook page?
We use our Facebook fanpage to converse with our fans while showing them what we are all about. With the use of status updates, pictures, videos and contests…we are able to show our fans or interested people why our original style of travel is the best way to get out and see the world before coming home to the ‘grind’.
What’s the most successful marketing program you have run using North Social apps on your page?
We just ran our Get Busy Livin’ Passport Competition where we awarded a grand prize of a free 20-day trip to our new destination Greece & Turkey. From the start of our campaign, we grew the number of fans we had from 12,789 to over 18,700!
What other companies do you admire for what they’re doing on Facebook?
One company we think is amazing in particular is the entire Virgin brand. From their airfare to mobility they have done a great job of knowing their market and staying current with the changes that occur in today’s marketplace. Which, as we all know…can be a difficult thing to do!!
If you could offer one key to success (big or small) to fellow page admins, what would it be?
Communicate with your fans! People want to hear what’s fresh & happening with you. Plus, they have questions and want answers. If you take the time to have a relationship with your potential customers…you will see word spread about your brand, company or service and will definitely reap the benefits with some new sales!
What apps are you using?
The Fan Offer app has been the most successful we have used to date. But, we are excited to get our dirty little hands on others such as Photo Showcase, Sweepstakes, & First Impression…or, any other new and exciting app North Social comes out with next that we feel would be a good fit for our market!
